On March 19, 2020 Los Angeles County (CA) had issued a “Stay at Home” order
with regards to the COVID-19 outbreak. Fortunately, our business falls under the essential business category and we are still operational. However, due to safety concerns of our staff and community, our office is only partially open to a select number of staff and we request all clients to continue to file with us remotely. This will cause some delays in our response time and preparation but we are on top of everything and working diligently to get taxes done on time.
Below are some resources and answers to frequently asked questions:
As of March 20, 2020, the IRS has extended tax season
(filing and payment deadline) to July 15th, 2020. If you are unable to file your taxes by July 15th, 2020 you may file an extension to push the deadline out to October 15th, 2020. Any tax dues made after July 15th will incur interest and penalties.
Stimulus Payments have been released by the IRS and will continue to be released as clients file their taxes. You may use Get My Payment
on the IRS website to track the status of your Stimulus payment and access more details to see if you qualify. If you did not get your stimulus payment you can also apply for the credit as part of your 2020 taxes.
We’ve noticed a huge delay in IRS processing times and refunds. Due to COVID-19 issues, many IRS Service centers are still closed and are not processing manual and paper returns. We’ve also noticed some delays in refunds being processed. To check the status of your Federal return you may use the Where’s my Refund
link on the IRS website.
